Charlie Maughan
Charlie became aware of Mens Talk after the birth of his first child in March 2020 — at the height of the pandemic — when isolation and uncertainty were at their peak. He has seen the impact of poor mental health on himself and those closest to him, and noticed how many men, and parents in general, struggled to share the full picture of what they were going through. Now, as Vice President, he’s using that experience to fuel his commitment to normalising honest conversations about mental health.
Through 2025 and 2026, Charlie will be taking on a series of challenges designed to stretch his physical and mental limits. As tough as they may be, he knows they pale in comparison to the challenges of living with poor mental health. Charlie’s Challenges will begin in November 2025 with the Mens Talk 24-hour Swim for Life and culminate in December 2026 when he takes on his first full Ironman triathlon. Through these events, Charlie hopes to raise awareness of Mens Talk and spread the message that it’s not weak to speak — talking can save lives.
